December 2020 UPDATE
Lewisville ISD is proposing the adjustment of current school boundary lines, effective the 2021-22 school year. The LISD Board of Trustees will likely consider the district’s recommendation at the January 2021 Board meeting. The district does not propose boundary changes without significant consideration, and we want to share with the community how we reached this recommendation. New development in the eastern portion of LISD has required the district to review its current school boundary lines. The district will also open its newest elementary school on Josey Lane in Fall 2021 and must propose boundary adjustments in other areas of the district. As communities grow, it is sometimes necessary to balance enrollment among schools. Other factors include geographical proximity of students to schools and future enrollment projections.
We know the community may have questions, and we want to provide an opportunity to have a conversation with us. The LISD community is invited to attend one of our meetings below to learn more information, ask questions and discuss any concerns.
If the Board approves these boundary line changes, please be assured students will continue to receive the best educational opportunities and experiences at their new school. We will continue to keep families and the community informed as any decisions are made.
