We know that strong schools exist within strong communities. Schools cannot do this work alone. This campaign will allow us to highlight just a few of the many supportive organizations within our boundaries. LISD is partnering with United Way of Denton County to support these, and other, health & human services organizations.
Children's Advocacy Center for Denton County
Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County is committed to facilitating a coordinated response to child sexual abuse. Established in 1997, the agency coordinates with law enforcement, child protective services, medical and mental health professionals to help children and their non-offending family members seek justice and find healing.
In an effort to protect Denton County’s children from sexual abuse, the center offers free training and community outreach programs designed how to help the public recognize and react responsibly to child abuse.
Communities in Schools
The mission of Communities in Schools of North Texas is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Communities In Schools of North Texas serves hundreds of at-risk youth in several LISD schools through Case Management Dropout Prevention programs.
Denton County Friends of the Family
Denton County Friends of the Family is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive services to those impacted by rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence, while partnering with our community to promote safety, healing, and prevention.
Journey to Dream
Journey to Dream, a North Texas based non-profit, has been dedicated to supporting teens and allowing them to reach their full potential. Through curriculum‐guided, non‐judgmental support groups, Journey to Dream delivers a safe haven for teens and helps them build the skills to overcome adversity within their lives.
Our organization is open to all teens regardless of background and circumstances. We provide community outreach, support services and homeless programs, including our new emergency youth shelter for unaccompanied teens: Kyle's Place, located in Lewisville, Texas – the only one of its kind in North Texas.
Lewisville Education Foundation
Lewisville ISD Education Foundation is a public, non-profit corporation dedicated to supporting excellence in education for Lewisville ISD students and teachers by expanding learning and teaching opportunities. The mission is to enrich the quality of public education in the thirteen communities served by LISD by being a vehicle for securing private funding benefiting LISD. This mission is fulfilled through scholarship, teacher grants, awards of excellence and program grants.
North Texas Food Bank
The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked nonprofit relief organization, providing access to more than 170,000 meals each day for hungry children, seniors and families through a network of more than 1,000 programs and 200 Partner Agencies in our 13-county service area. The North Texas Food Bank partners with LISD to provide weekend take-home food for elementary students facing food insecurity.

Our caring medical experts value every moment we spend with you from annual well-child visits to same-day sick-visits to management of on-going chronic care. United Way of Denton County
United Way of Denton County’s mission is to improve lives in Denton County by assessing our community needs, uniting people to make change that lasts, creating and implementing new and collective solutions, and measuring results. Our vision is to leverage community resources that help children, families, veterans, people experiencing homelessness, and people affected by mental illness. Your gift helps more than 20,000 children and families living in Lewisville ISD communities and served by 23 local non-profit organizations and 18 Collective Impact Initiatives.
Youth and Family Counseling
The goal of Youth and Family Counseling is to aid the families and children of Denton County, thereby creating healthy and productive individuals, families, and communities which will benefit the quality of life for all.
