Six LISD Elementary Schools Win Prestigious Student Council Awards
On Wednesday, October 18, the Student Council leaders from Garden Ridge, Forest Vista, Hicks, Liberty, Donald and Peters Colony Elementary Schools were awarded the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) Student Leadership Award. To qualify for this award, Student Council leaders had to submit an application to TEPSA showing outstanding student leadership and their impact on their schools and communities through service projects. In addition to the TEPSA award, Garden Ridge Elementary and Donald Elementary received a National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) American Student Council Association School of Excellence Award. There were only 11 schools across the country who received this honor and to have two campuses in LISD be recognized is quite the achievement!
