National Merit Scholarship Program
58 students were named National Merit Finalists; 61 students were named National Merit Semi-Finalists Scholars; 171 National Merit Commended Scholars; and 55 National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars.
RoboticsFlower Mound High School VEX teams received numerous awards throughout the competition season: Design Award, Judges Award, Excellence Award, Create Award and Skills Champions. Three teams placed first in tournaments and two teams achieved the top honor of attending the VEX World Championship, Team 2019-B and Team 2019-F. In addition, FMHS Tech Club parent, Brian McGee, was awarded Mentor of the Year at VEX World Championship.
Rho Kappa Honor Society
Marcus High School students in the Rho Kappa Honor Society won first place in the "Speak Up! Speak Out!" High School Division category at the 2018 State Civics Fair.
Scripps National Spelling Bee
Liberty Elementary School's fifth-grader Abhijay Kodali won third place in the 2018 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Texas State German Contest
Marcus High School students Kirsten Hahn and Brody Roberson were recognized for winning first place at the 2018 Texas State German Contest for their photo essay describing and illustrating their road trip to Memphis, Tennessee.
Texas State Junior Classical League
Marcus, Hebron, Lewisville and The Colony High Schools had 38 students place first through third in the 2018 Texas State JCL Convention. Marcus also placed first in dramatic interpretation and third in both essay and boys costume at the National Junior Classical League Convention.

Heritage Elementary student Dylan James Shaw earned not only the Texas Parent Teacher Association Reflections Contest Award of Overall Excellence, but he also won the National Parent Teacher Association Reflections Contest Award of Excellence for a blues piano original.
