Dual Credit
-
Dual Credit is one example of advanced academic courses offered by Lewisville ISD to help students prepare for the challenge of college while still benefiting from the support of the high school environment. Dual Credit classes offer students the chance to take college-level classes, taught on the high school campus by college professors. When students successfully complete Dual Credit courses, they earn both high school credit and college credit for the corresponding college course from the partnering college/university.
LISD partners with Collin College & North Central Texas College (NCTC) to offer dual credit opportunities to our students.

All students that want to participate in Dual Credit classes must qualify to participate in these classes by demonstrating “college readiness” on the Texas Success Initiative (TSI). Students may also demonstrate college readiness through another accepted test. Interested students must check TSI requirements prior to registering or before considering any dual credit course. LISD will offer TSI testing to students for dual credit and will communicate as students select dual credit courses during registration.
