Research shows that bilingual brains are better developed in areas like attention control, cognitive flexibility, and conflict monitoring—skills that are invaluable as they grow.
If you're ready to request placement for your child in Kindergarten or First Grade as a Spanish language learner in the LISD Dual Language Program, we invite you to attend one of our mandatory informational meetings.

Placement requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, starting with those who attend an informational meeting. For first grade, additional criteria may apply.
Please remember that transportation for Spanish language learners in the Dual Language program is not provided. For students seeking placement in 2nd grade or higher, the student must meet specific qualifications through a formal assessment. If you’d like more details, please reach out to the Dual Language Program Office.
