In 2012-13, Lewisville ISD established its first-ever elementary world language enrichment program, Spanish Immersion.
In LISD's Spanish Immersion program, kindergarten through fifth grade students acquire biliteracy and bilingualism (English/Spanish) through core content that is taught in both English and Spanish. In the Spanish Immersion program, the majority of the students in the class are learning Spanish. Students receive a 50/50 ratio of instruction in Spanish and English by two highly qualified teachers.
