Special Education Supports & Services

The Lewisville ISD teachers of students with auditory impairments (AI) are itinerant teachers. Each AI teacher has a caseload of hearing impaired students, elementary through high school, who provide either consult or direct services related to the hearing loss. Consult services are with the teacher(s) of the student. Direct services involve working directly with the student in the classroom. The AI teachers supplement, modify and reinforce materials as needed, but do not replace teaching in the classroom.

Lewisville ISD contracts with the Denton Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD). This allows Lewisville ISD the ability to offer programming for students who use or need total communication services.
