Lewisville ISD provides full-day kindergarten at our 39 elementary campuses for children who will be five years old on/before Sept. 1. Although not required in Texas, kindergarten is highly recommended. Classes are from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. A tuition-based, after school extended day program with limited capacity is available at all elementary campuses.
How do I enroll my child in kindergarten for next year?
- My child currently attends Pre-K in LISD: It is not necessary to complete the new student enrollment process again. Your child will automatically be enrolled at the elementary school zoned for your address in Skyward. This may be different from the campus your child attended for Pre-K. The campus may contact you to get any additional documents needed, including a proof of residency and updated immunization records to meet kindergarten requirements if you have not already provided those.

I am not sure which campus my child will attend?
What if I would like a general transfer to a different school?
What if I am interested in a Program of Choice school?
Parents were invited to attend a general LISD "Time for Kindergarten Meeting" during February and March where they had the opportunity to learn what can be expected in LISD kindergarten and ask questions. Parents also learned helpful ways to prepare their children for the transition to kindergarten. If you missed this meeting, you can still find some valuable kindergarten resources HERE.
