Congratulations to the TCHS Class of 2025 Top 10 graduates.

    TCHS 1

    Riley Gove
    Valedictorian

What university/college are you attending in the fall?
    University of Texas at Dallas

What do you plan to major in, and what are your career plans?
    Physics and Pure Mathematics

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
Cheryl Chupe, Academic Decathlon. She helped me mature and grow up over the last three years.

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
Taking AP Physics. That class taught me how to study and helped me develop test-taking and time management skills. Of course, it also set me down the path to my major.

What are your favorite memories of school?
The Academic Decathlon state trips. I’ll always remember the seven-hour car rides, late night talks, and frantic studying as we prepped for the big competitions.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
I hope our class is remembered as a class of champions. A class of winners academically, athletically, and artistically. We have succeeded in the past, and I hope our success continues into the future, defining our class for years to come.

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
I joined Collegiate Academy at The Colony High School which enabled me to earn an Associate’s of Science Degree with 60 hours of dual credit.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories are in orchestra and lunch as my closest friends are there. During our Collegiate Fridays, we cooked foods that were not presentable.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
I hope Class of 2025 will be remembered as young adults that are kids at heart. They will be the next generation to change the world.

    TCHS 4

    4. Rahul Srinivas

What university/college are you attending in the fall?
The University of Texas at Austin

What do you plan to major in, and what are your career plans?
I plan to major in physics, ideally going into quantum research/engineering.

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
A lot of teachers have impacted me throughout my schooling, and I wouldn’t be here without their guidance and mentorship. However, if I had to pick one, it would be Mrs. Cheryl Chupe: my Academic Decathlon coach for the past two years. Ever since I joined, she’s always been a persistent voice of encouragement, and has been the single-most influential teacher in helping me develop into the person I am today. She’s the teacher who believes in you before you ever start believing in yourself. I credit her with helping me grow out of my shell—transforming from a shy, introverted student into someone who can speak with clarity, confidence, and conviction. She didn’t just teach me how to win medals; she reminded me of what makes me, me. And for that, I am ever grateful.

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
The best decision I made was simply saying yes to new challenges, clubs, and people. Even though I only joined in junior year, jumping into AcDec, Debate, and DECA pushed me to grow past my limits and gave me a community I never knew I needed. My friendships with Nikhil Chepuri, Joel Mathai, Riley Gove, Alivia Zoltowski, and Elin Park have only gotten stronger through shared extracurriculars. Honestly, my only regret is not joining sooner.

What are your favorite memories of school?
Late-night AcDec study sessions; ping pong rallies in the library; the DECA volunteering trip; that oh-so-familiar sizzle of a Celsius being cracked opened; debate tourneys; tennis during AM off; panic-studying for AP Physics in the classes before; football and group hangouts with BND; Model UN with Ms. Weal last year; celebratory Taco Bell runs; and fourth period Academic Decathlon for the past two years.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
    Boundless.

    TCHS 5

    5. Iris Rattanasinh

What university/college are you attending in the fall?
    University of Texas at Dallas

What do you plan to major in, and what are your career plans?
I plan to major in Software Engineering and I hope to become a Software Developer and develop my own software products.

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
The teacher that has impacted me most is Coach Russel (John Russel), who was my AP Precalculus teacher during my junior year. His favorite phrase, “Sí se puede” means “yes you can,” and it is an idea that he instilled in his students every day. Coach Russel pushed me to put my absolute effort into the work that I did, no matter how big or small. He taught me to be confident in my abilities and that I could always do more than what I thought. I know now that there are no limits and no stopping my pursuit towards my goals and future.

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
The best choice I have made during my time in LISD was taking Robotics I. Even though I thought that it would be just like any other elective class, I have learned so much about perseverance and problem solving. Going through the process of designing, programming, and testing proved to be exhilarating and thus instilled a higher motivation for me to pursue a career in Engineering.

What are your favorite memories of school?
Competing in DECA and going to Houston for the state competition in 2024 is one of my favorite memories from high school. Aside from the actual competing part, which was an amazing learning experience itself, I really enjoyed being able to meet peers from other schools, roaming the city of Houston, and learning how to build connections through a business lens.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
After taking a plethora of classes in high school ranging from AP Calculus to Art Appreciation, I can say with confidence that my peers in the class of 2025 have so much passion, talent, and compassion. When we graduate, I hope that the world can recognize its future leaders and embrace the new ideas and perspectives that they have to offer.

    TCHS 6

    6. Kirit Dangol

What university/college are you attending in the fall?
    Johns Hopkins University

What do you plan to major in, and what are your career plans?
I plan to major in chemistry on the pre-med track, and I want to pursue medicine in the future and become a cardiologist.

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
The teacher that impacted me the most is Dr. Matthew Lovelace who is my Orchestra Director.

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
I think the best choice that I made for my education in LISD is taking AP Chemistry my sophomore year since it made me feel more confident to test myself in my academics, but also in my extracurricular activities such as Academic Decathalon and DECA.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories from school are volunteering and performing in UIL for orchestra because I would be able to spend the whole day in the orchestra room with friends, playing games while setting up for ensembles in between. It was always the highlight of my year and I always looked forward to performing on the big stage for the competition.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
I hope history remembers the Class of 2025 as high schoolers that made an impact in technology, research, and innovation even after coming straight out of the pandemic during their first years in high school.

    TCHS 7

    7. Ethan Tathiah

What university/college are you attending in the fall?
    University of Texas at Dallas

What do you plan to major in, and what are your career plans?
    Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
The teacher that impacted me the most was my business teacher, Mrs. Stephenson. Even when I wasn’t confident in my abilities, she believed in me, and convinced me to join DECA. She pushed me to do my best in DECA, and it helped me gain the confidence to try my best, which resulted in me making it to the state competition for DECA. I believe that she gave me the confidence I needed to push on throughout high school, and I will continue to carry that confidence and work ethic throughout college.

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
The best choice that I made for my education/future is joining the Collegiate Academy. At the time when I applied, I  just thought of it as a way to take harder classes and get a college degree. However, what I didn’t realize was that it would give me the opportunity to meet new people from different schools that I would never meet otherwise, and take classes with them throughout high school.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memory of school is when I competed at the state competition for DECA. Although I had to prepare a lot for the exam and the role-play scenario, it allowed me to compete in something I was passionate about, while hanging out with my friends. Even though I didn’t make it to the international competition, I had a lot of fun meeting new people, and talking to friends.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
I hope the Class of 2025 is remembered for our achievements and involvement in band, theater, and academic decathlon. Our class made great achievements in those activities, so I hope that history remembers us as people who pushed hard to achieve those goals and awards. I want people to aspire to achieve those heights and look back to my class as an example.

    TCHS 9

    9. Celeste Lashua

What university/college are you attending in the fall?
    Texas A&M University

What do you plan to major in, and what are your career plans?
I will be majoring in Education to become an elementary school teacher!

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
This is definitely a tie between Andrea Slaughter- French, and Tucker Young- Theatre. Starting with Mme. Slaughter; I have had the pleasure to have her as a teacher for French 1 all the way up to AP French 4. Mme. Slaughter has helped me to develop a passion for something I originally deemed impossible: learning another language. Not only that, but her bright smile, positive attitude, and endless support for all I do in and outside of the classroom has helped drive me to try my greatest in all I do, without fear of failure. Mr. Young has played a pivotal role in building my confidence; not only as an actress, but as a person as well. I have seen tremendous transformation in myself since he began as my theatre teacher at the start of my junior year to now. Mr. Young's guidance has helped empower me to be proud in my own skin, pushing me to do all things without doubting myself. These two amazing individuals have taught me exactly what it means to be a great teacher, and I know I will back on their examples when I become a teacher one day.

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
The best choice I made for my education and future was deciding to take AP courses. The rigorous content of these classes has helped prepare me for what my college classes will be like, allowing me to feel well-equipped to do well at university.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories of school have to be those held with my theatre company. From attending the State One-Act Play competition, to going to the Thespian convention, to simply sharing a laugh with each other during rehearsals; I will always cherish these moments deeply. To all involved in TATC at any point in my high school career: thank you for being you!

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the class of 2025?
I hope future classes remember the Class of 2025 as one of perseverance. This class stepped right out of a global pandemic into our first year of high school, which was certainly no easy task. Yet we did it, and accomplished so much along the way.

Mrs. Jobst (Math: Algebra 2) She really cared about my future and insisted I take classes that I wasn't really looking into. She really redirected my educational goals!

What was the best choice you made for your education/future during your time in LISD?
The best choice I made was genuinely focusing on maintaining high grades in my freshman and sophomore years, it set up my basis for my success in my studies even though junior and senior year was difficult.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories would be homecoming games and partaking in the small events our school provides. I also loved partaking in DECA!

I hope history remembers class of 2025 to be resilient, bright group of students! I hope that we our known for our diversity of interests and knowledge that we all provide.
