    We are excited to announce the latest opportunity for Lewisville ISD paraprofessionals - LISD is partnering with Dallas College to provide a path to full teacher certification while keeping a full-time paraprofessional position! Whether you have already started in another program or have been thinking of getting started, now is the time.

    What are the benefits?

    1. Affordability

    • Earn a bachelor's degree for less than $10k (books included) - Dallas County Residents Only
      • Dallas County Residents $79/credit hour
      • Non-Dallas County Residents $135/credit hour; roughly $16k
      • Dallas College: Cost and Tuition
    • Keep a position in LISD and earn a progressively higher salary while training to be a teacher
    • Tuition assistance pending receipt of apprenticeship dollars

    2. Academic Support

    • A cohort uniquely built for Lewisville ISD paraprofessionals
    • Intensive teacher certification exam support
    • In the first two years, residents have a built-in release day to engage in professional learning including classwork assistance, professional observations, grade review, etc. once every four weeks.

    3. Authentic Learning Opportunities 

    • Complete program requirements in the community you already know and love
    • Flexible scheduling 1½ days a month in years 3-4
    • Performance-based tasks that provide frequent application of coursework theory
