Student Teachers

  • Lewisville ISD welcomes Student Teachers during the Fall and Spring Semesters. To request placement for student teaching, please follow the steps below.
    *NOTE: Students or program directors may not contact campus teachers or principals directly. 

    Before applying, ask yourself these questions

    • Has your program given you permission to apply to student teach in LISD?
    • Do you know exactly which subject/grade level you need to student teach?
    • Do you know if you need one or two placements and the criteria for each?
    • Do you know the start and end dates for your placement(s)?
    • Do you know the full name, email, and phone number of your program supervisor? (Step 2 will ask you for these details.)

    If you answered YES to all of the questions below, please move to steps 1, 2, & 3.
    If you answered NO to any of the questions below, please talk to your program supervisor before continuing.

    1. Student Teacher Application - Fill out and submit this application in Frontline, our applicant tracking system.
      You will be asked to create a username and password.  After student teaching, you will already have an application in our system to apply for teaching jobs.
      *NOTE: Section 4 in the application "Vacancy Desired" is already checked, Job ID#3647.  DO NOT CLICK ANY OTHER JOBS or it will add 21 new sections to the application!

    2. Placement Details Form - This form will be emailed to Alex Rivera, your program director, and to you.
      *NOTE: Please make sure all of the information is correct or your placement may be delayed.

    3. Criminal Background Check - All applicants must submit the Criminal Background Check Form. Remember, requests for placement will not be processed until the results of the CBC have been received. Individuals currently employed by LISD are not required to submit an additional Criminal Background Check form.

    4. Student-Teacher Handbook - Student teachers are responsible for the contents of the handbook.
