    Top Ten TCHS Students

    Valedictorian: Kiana Razdar
University / college: University of Texas at Dallas
Major / career plans: I will be majoring in healthcare studies. My plan is to go to medical school following my undergraduate education to become an orthopedic spine surgeon.

    Kiana Razdar

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
All of my teachers have positively impacted me in different ways. If I have to pick one teacher who has had the greatest impact on me it would be Curry Goff. He was my freshman AP Biology teacher who helped set the path for the remnant years of my high school career. He believed in my capabilities at times when I did not believe in myself, and always encouraged me to never give up. As a teacher, he did not just teach me biology, but he taught me lessons substantially more valuable that I will forever be thankful for.

What are your favorite memories of school?
Looking back, we won't particularly remember specific concepts we learned in each class, but we will remember all the laughter. My favorite memory is all the smiles we shared.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
I hope history remembers the class of 2022 as the class who got lucky. Colleges made SAT submissions optional for our class, junior year we joined classes from the comfort of our beds, and by our senior year somehow the world returned to being "normal" and we were able to experience all the senior year activities.

    Salutatorian: Xander Corcoran
University / college: University of Texas at Dallas
Major / career plans: I plan to double major in computer science and statistics, and I plan to start a career in software development or software engineering.

    Xander-Corcoran

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
Stephanie Chang, AP Statistics. Ms. Chang impacted me the most by not only providing support for pursuing my degree in computer science, but also in pushing me to enjoy statistics and to possibly double major in it as a future job outlet.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories of school came from my very first day at high school in freshman year. There I met one of my soon-to-be best friends and overall I had an amazing transition to a new school with people I never met before.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
I hope that the Class of 2022 is remembered as the class that returned to normalcy afyrt the recent pandemic lockdowns we have had.

    3. Adbeelners Sauceda

    adbeelnerssauceda

    4. Sophie Romero
University / college: Texas A&M University
Major / career plans: I plan to major in general engineering my first year and most likely pursue biomedical engineering after that. I want to develop and research technology that can improve people's lives.

    Sophie Romero

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
Every teacher that I have had impacted my life in one way or another, and I would like to thank all of them. However, I would like to specially recognize Mrs. Tracy Jobst (my Algebra II and PSAT Team teacher) since she has always been my biggest supporter, and she dedicated a great deal of her own time to prepare us for higher level math and college.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories of school are getting to perform for choir and theatre. Also, senior activities have been a blast, especially prom.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
I hope history remembers the Class of 2022 as the class that inspired younger grades to always try their best and work hard to make a difference in the world.

    6. Chandler Tompkins
University / college: University of Texas at Austin
Major / career plans: I plan to double major in communications and journalism!

    Chandler Tompkins

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
Honestly, I have been immensely blessed to have a variety of really amazing and impactful teachers who deeply care for their students! However because of that, I really can’t name one teacher who has had the greatest impact on me because I am so so grateful for all of the impacts my teachers have had on me equally!

What are your favorite memories of school?
Some of my favorite memories from school are the football games. This year, my friends and I would stand at the gate the whole game, dressed in our black and gold spirit wear, shaking cowbells and making as much noise as possible. Some of my best memories are from lunch in the choir room, joking with friends, laughing till our stomachs hurt. But overall, my greatest memories are just the good days when I had some free time to play cards or drive to sonic after school with my friends!

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
I hope history remembers the Class of 2022 as the class that persevered through a really unique few years, helping each other as we struggled with mental health, online school, and the absence of social activities for a full year. But the class that still made it, and triumphed through such unprecedented times.

    7. Kaitlyn Rose Said
University / college: University of Texas at Austin
Major / career plans: Finance and Arabic, I plan on working in business consulting abroad.

    Kaitlyn Said

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
Mrs. Kristie DeLuna has impacted me the most because I’ve never met a teacher more willing to sacrifice her time and effort to better the futures of the students around her. She deeply cares for her students and and showcases this by being there for us and helping in any way she can to look after us.

What are your favorite memories of school?
I love going on trips with Model U.N. We always have a great time with tons of laughs.

    8. Salina Huy
University / college: The University of Texas at Austin
Major / career plans: I am planning on pursuing a degree in psychology, on a pre-med track.

    Salina Huy

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
My choir teacher, Ms. Margaret Miller, has been with me since the start and has (quite literally) helped me find my voice. She makes the classroom such a friendly atmosphere and it has been a pleasure being her student for the past four years.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
It wouldn't hurt to be known as the class that was able to graduate to 22 by Taylor Swift.

    9. Sarah Brock
University / college: Texas Christian University
Major / career plans: I will be majoring in interior design and earning my bachelor's degree. After graduating college, I will get certified by taking the NCIDQ exam. I hope to work at a top firm in the DFW area.

    Sarah Brock

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
Lyquisha Ballard impacted me the most because she motivated me to work hard and always try my best. She was always there to encourage me to succeed. She taught my business information management class.

What are your favorite memories of school?
My favorite memories of school are making new friends. I made a lot of my favorite memories in my student council class with my friends where we made posters and other fun projects. Overall, senior year has been very fun with all of the different events we had.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
I hope history remembers the class of 2022 as hard workers who overcame many challenges through our high school experience. We faced so many struggles with COVID that messed up our sense of normal especially at school.

    10. Bryce Santos Alvarez Bezerra
University / college: Missouri University of Science and Technology
Major / career plans: Aerospace engineering. After completing my first year at Missouri S&T, I plan to transfer to Georgia Tech since I received conditional admission and perhaps obtain a master degree afterwards.

    Bryce Alvarez Bezerra

What teacher impacted you the most and how/why?
James Robarge was simply one of the best teachers I ever had. He is passionate about actually helping his students, and though calculus might be a challenging class for some, he tries his best to help all of his students to comprehend it. I think our mutual interest in math and engineering made us more than student and teacher, it made us friends.

What are your favorite memories of school?
I've had wonderful experiences during the time I have been at The Colony High School, but the ones that stand out in my memory were when I entered the swim team. I've made good friends there, had a lot of fun, and it was the first time I socialized since I arrived here in the U.S. I had a similar experience in my calculus class. These are the memories I will remember for the rest of my life.

In the years to come, how do you hope history remembers the Class of 2022?
As a class that persevered and persisted after such a catastrophe that was the Coronavirus pandemic. Many lost their jobs, some lost their lives, yet we still stand, on the verge of graduation, of success, and with a lot learned.
