Bleeding Control Training for Students (Stop the Bleed)

The Texas Education Code (TEC), §38.030, as added by House Bill (HB) 496, 86th Texas Legislature, requires each school district and open-enrollment charter school to annually offer instruction on the use of a bleeding control station to students enrolled at the campus in Grade 7 or higher.

Lewisville ISD uses the approved TEA training, Stop the Bleed, as the annual instruction course for students.  LISD partners with our Medical City Healthcare Trauma instructors and the EMS departments throughout the district to assist in this annual training.

    Impact Teen Drivers

This course is optional and is directed at reducing injuries and fatalities caused by reckless and distracted driving.  Upon completion, the student’s automobile insurance rate may be discounted. Check with your insurance agent!
