Community Involvement

  • The safety and security of the students and staff of Lewisville ISD takes all of us, including families, first responders, community members and more. Examples of community involvement initiatives include:

    • LISD and local police departments share costs associated with staffing school resource officers and crossing guards.
    • Monthly meetings bring together leaders from LISD and the six local police agencies serving our district, including Highland Village, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Carrollton, The Colony and Frisco to discuss safety issues.
    • LISD offers free lunch to area law enforcement in an effort to increase police presence and visibility in schools.
    • Many LISD schools partner with the PTA to offer WATCH D.O.G.S., a program that invites fathers and father figures to volunteer all day at their child’s school, and other community programs to increase volunteer participation on campuses.
