MISSION:  LISD Libraries provide a foundation for using library and information resources for lifelong learning.  The library program supports literacy, research, technology, makerspaces, and STEM.  LISD libraries also foster connections between the school and the community as well as creating global connections.

    GOALS:

    We will:

    1. Provide meaningful and relevant material and learning experiences for all students that reflect and honor the community we serve.

    2. Provide an environment that engages and connects students with each other and staff while creating a sense of belonging.

    3. Partner with the community in intentional and strategic ways.

    4. Be good stewards of our time, our talent, and resources.

    5. Serve all our stakeholders through these roles: campus leader, instructional partner, information specialist, program administrator, and teacher.

    We believe:

    • The library is a place for ALL students.

    • That all children have the right to read culturally relevant, high-interest materials that will expand their horizons.

    • Libraries should provide students with a variety of experiences through programming and specialized spaces.
