2025 Early Childhood Summer School

  • LISD provides a 17 day, Early Childhood Summer School for English Language Learners (ESL & BIL) entering 2025-26 kindergarten and first grade focusing on developing greater proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

    Early Childhood Summer School Program Information

    Locations: Participating students will be assigned to their location depending on where they live in LISD.

    1. Camey Elementary in The Colony
    2. Lakeland Elementary in Lewisville
    3. Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center in Lewisville

    Student School Days: Wednesday, May 28 - Friday, June 20, 2025; 17 instructional days; June 19th is a holiday in observance of Juneteenth 

    Student Hours: 8 AM - 3:05 PM daily, Monday through Fridays

    Meals: Yes, FREE breakfast and lunch are provided

    Transportation: FREE bus transportation provided for students who are at least 5 years old

    • 4-year-old students may NOT ride the bus

    Parent Orientation: Virtual May 27; 5:30-6:30 PM  

    Parent & Student Night: In Person June 16; 5:30-6:30 PM

    Who can attend Early Childhood (EC) Summer School?

    LISD students registered for kindergarten and first grade for the 2025-26 school year who currently participate in a Bilingual class or receive ESL services as enrolled PreK 4 or kindergarten students qualify to attend the free EC Summer School program. 

    Is my child required to attend EC Summer School if they qualify for the program?

    This summer program is optional and free for the students who qualify. While qualifying students are not required to participate, public school districts are required to provide the program.

    How much does EC Summer School cost?

    It is FREE. It is offered at no cost to the students who choose to participate. 

    How do I register my child for Early Childhood Summer School?

    The Early Childhood Summer School registration form is located in eligible students' Skyward Family Access forms starting March 26, 2025. Invitations to register for EC Summer School are emailed to the parents of eligible students by the end of March 2025. Parents must fill out their child's EC Summer School registration form in Skyward Family Access Forms to register their child to participate. The EC Summer School registration form in Skyward closes April 25, 2025. 

    When will 2025 EC Summer School registration be available? 

    EC Summer School student registration will be available in Skyward Family access for EC Summer School eligible students from March 26 - April 25, 2025. 

    If my child is eligible to enroll in EC Summer School, do they have to participate?

    No, program participation is optional and FREE for eligible Emergent Bilingual (ESL & BIL) students currently enrolled in PK4 and Kindergarten only. Receiving the email with the registration link means your child is eligible to participate for FREE.

    Will I receive a packet with my student's EC Summer School campus and teacher information if they enroll?

    Yes, parents who say YES to their child attending EC Summer School will receive an information packet before the last day of school in May with their child’s summer school location, summer school teacher assignment and more info about the program.
