Early Childhood Summer School

  • Virtual Earlly Childhood Summer School Weekly Lesson Plans

LISD provides Early Childhood Summer School for English Language Learners entering 2020-21 kindergarten and first grade focusing on developing greater proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

2020 EC Summer School will take place virtually due to the continued Covid-19 related health restrictions. We have created an enriching virtual program for students who qualify and choose to participate.

Who can attend Early Childhood Summer School?

LEP students enrolled in PK4 and Kindergarten bound for Kinder and First Grade for 2020-21 who have accepted and receive either ESL or Bilingual services during the 2019-20 school year are eligible to participate in this optional program. While these students are not required to participate, districts are required to provide the program. As always, it is offered at no cost for the students who choose to participate.

How do I know if my child qualifies to attend Early Childhood Summer School?

Students entering kindergarten and first grade students for the 2020-21 school year who currently participate in a Bilingual class or receive ESL services qualify to attend EC Summer School. Invitations to register for the LEP EC Summer School program were emailed only to eligible students on Monday, May 18. The application will be closed Friday, May 29 at the end of the day.
