College Board Testing

  • AP Testing:

The Advanced Placement Program (AP) consists of 39 different college-level courses developed by the College Board. These courses allow students to engage in college-level coursework while still in high school. Each course culminates in a standardized assessment, or AP exam, which is administered on College Board designated days in May.

The College Board allows campuses to establish internal deadlines, exam pricing and late testing policies. Students/families should be familiar with these policies before registering for AP exams. Students and families have agreed to the policies when registering and paying for the exams.

Students enrolled at a campus in Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) are eligible to participate in AP testing at LISD campuses. Please contact your campus testing coordinator for more information on how to register for an AP exam.

Late testing will be offered if:

      • There is a conflict with another AP exam
      • There is a conflict with a school sponsored athletic/academic event
      • There is a conflict due to an approved accommodation (such as two-day testing)
      • There is a family tragedy (funeral, etc.)
      • Serious injury/illness on the day of testing, accompanied by a doctor’s note provided within 24 hours of the original exam time

Late testing will not be offered if:

      • There is a conflict due to a family event (not related to a death)
      • There is a conflict due to a non-school sponsored athletic/academic event
      • College Visit/Vacation
      • Serious injury/illness on the day of testing without a doctor’s note within 24 hours of the original exam time
      • Tardiness resulting in arriving to the test after the required/communicated time of arrival

    For Non-LISD Students:

Students who are not enrolled at a LISD campus must complete and submit the 2024-2025 AP Testing Request form. The LISD Assessment Department will review the requests, determine eligibility, and request Proof of Residency documentation from individuals meeting the initial review’s eligibility requirements.  Due to limited resources, LISD is unable to assess students who are not enrolled in LISD and live outside of LISD boundaries. LISD is unable to register non-LISD students after the fall registration deadline. Please be aware of the registration dates listed on the campus AP registration website.

    PSAT/NMSQT testing:

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is structured similarly to the SAT®, has the same sections and timing, and measures the same Reading and Writing and Math skills students learn in the classroom.  Students may read about the benefits of taking the PSAT/NMSQT here.

Students enrolled in 11th grade at a campus in Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) are eligible to participate in PSAT/NMSQT testing at LISD campuses. Please contact your campus testing coordinator for more information on how to register for the PSAT/NMSQT exam.

    For Non-LISD Students:

Students in 11th grade who are not enrolled at a LISD campus must complete and submit the 2024-2025 PSAT/NMSQT Testing Request form. LISD is unable to register non-LISD students after the registration deadline. Please be aware of the registration dates listed on the campus PSAT/NMSQT registration website.

    SAT Weekend Testing and technology:

As previously communicated, the Bluebook app used to access the SAT exam will not work on LISD-issued devices at SAT testing centers outside of our district due to security settings set by other districts. This is because the security settings of LISD-issued devices may not be compatible with another district’s Wi-Fi. Though the College Board website states that students can download the Bluebook app ahead of time, the app will not work on LISD devices outside of our district due to these security settings. Because of this, we want to encourage all students to bring their personal device or request a device from the College Board when taking the SAT outside of LISD.

Requesting a Device from College Board
If your student does not have access to a personal device, the College Board may be able to lend them a device for use on test day. Students should first register for their desired test day and location, and then the option to select “Request a Device” will appear as part of their registration information on My SAT. It is recommended to request a device at least 30 days before test day to allow for shipping. For more information on requesting a device from the College Board, click HERE

If your student is taking the SAT at one of the testing centers within LISD, they may use their school-issued device. If you have any further questions, please contact your student’s campus counselor.

Creating College Board accounts and accessing scores:

To access personalized score reports for College Board exams, the student will need to create a free account with College Board. This account must contain the student’s name, email address, and school name, but we encourage parents/guardians to participate in the creation process as the College Board asks for some parent-specific information also. This one account will be how your child will access scores for College Board exams such as PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, and AP exams. Please use this quick guide  for creating an account and accessing scores. If you do not wish to see College Board exam score reports, a College Board account does not need to be created.

It is extremely important your child does not make more than one account.  According to College Board, due to data privacy and security rules and protocols, there is not a quick way to merge accounts.  The merging process can take a few weeks, so it may impact student’s ability to send scores to colleges resulting in missed scholarship deadlines.  If a second account has been created, students/parents should call customer service at 866-315-6068 as soon as possible to have the accounts merged.
