Gilbar C. Hedrick Elementary was opened in 1960, when Leo Stuver was superintendent of schools in LISD. The campus mascot was a bobcat and was open from 1973-2019. Students who previously attended Hedrick were rezoned to Degan, Parkway, or Vickery, depending on address. It was rebuilt as part of the new Hedrick Middle School in 2019. ______ was the campus’s first principal, and Trish Cuckler was the principal when the decision was made to retire the campus. Kevin Rogers was superintendent of schools at that time.
