In CCE's Animation courses, students will explore both 2D hand-drawn animation and 3D polygon-based animation. Students will learn the 12 principles of animation, and begin pieces of animation that can be used for professional portfolios.
Animation I is open to students in grades 10-12 and there are no prerequisite courses required prior to enrollment. Students will draw daily and will be working in 3D space, so an understanding of simple geometry is useful. For students interested in continuing their animation careers, Animation II and Practicum in Animation are available.
The Animation courses provide skills not only for animation and gaming, but also for emerging industries such as interactive web design, medical animation, and 3D visualization. NASA, the FBI, the military, advertising agencies, architects, and lawyers all use animation visualizations.
