Gunnery Sergeant Jason Gold
GySgt Jason Gold is a native of Reno, Nevada. He enlisted into the United States Navy in 1997 as a plane captain. He was stationed at Naval Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia and deployed in 1998 in support of Operation Southern Watch aboard the USS Eisenhower (CVN-69) aircraft carrier attached to Fighter Squadron 103 (VF-103) “Jolly Rogers”. GySgt Gold graduated from American Military University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Space Operations and Minor in Political Science in 2017. He also holds a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Dallas Baptist University.
After successfully completing a tour in the Navy, he transferred and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps as a Tactical Air Defense Controller. During this time, he completed schools to serve as a Senior Air Director, Senior Weapons Director, Weapons and Tactics Instructor, and Joint Interface Control Officer.
GySgt Gold’s previous operational tours include deployments with Marine Air Control Squadron 1 (MACS-1), Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 28 (MTACS-28), and Marine Air Control Squadron 2 (MACS-2). During those tours he participated in Operations Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom.
GySgt Gold’s duty stations include a tour as a Military Occupational Specialty instructor at Marine Electronics Communications School, Weapons and Tactics Instructor at Marine Air Control Group 28, Range Chief and Senior Enlisted Advisor for Range Operations at Marine Air/Ground Combat Center 29 Palms, CA.
His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Achievement Medal, three Navy Achievement Medals, Humanitarian Service Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Basic Parachutist Badge.
