Hello!  I am Mrs. Shaw, and I teach Art 1 and Painting 2, 3, & 4.

I was at DeLay M.S. for 16 years, and I am so excited to get to "grow up and go to high school" with former students and meet new Farmers!  I went to school in small towns in Texas, and I love how LHS has that same feeling and connection to our community.  I can't wait to see what our students create each day, and every project opens new possibilities for creativity.

My parents and most of my aunts and uncles were public school educators, and I truly believe education is the path to a future you can create.  Growing up, every holiday was full of "shop talk" and stories from their schools.  Also, I had graded papers for my mom, made bulletin boards, and been at school late working with my parents.  I felt like I wanted a different experience for my adulthood and studied business and made Art as a hobby--until I took a watercolor class at UNT and fell in love with Art again.  Art is how I understand (and process!) the world around me.  I enjoy teaching Art and relating to students through their Art production.
