Fun Facts

I grew up on a 100 year-old family farm in Colorado before heading to Baylor University for college (Sic ‘Em!) where I met my husband. Clint is chief integration officer of a national consulting firm for not-for-profit organizations. He is an expert at strategic planning and process improvement and keeps me on my organizational toes! Over the years, we’ve enjoyed living in Waco, Houston, Tyler, and Des Moines, IA before moving back to Texas to settle in Flower Mound.

Gourmet food, musicals and college sports are things I enjoy with my  family. Our oldest daughter, husband, and first granddaughter live in Maryland as they pursue further education at Johns Hopkins University. Our youngest daughter is also married and teaches music and art in Burnet. The other very sweet but furry girl in our family is “Belle,” our adopted doodle that is always happy to give a friendly hug.

When I’m not teaching, you might find me reading a good book, walking the neighborhood, digging in my flowerbeds, or strolling through a farmer’s market with a cup of coffee in hand.

Lifelong Learning

Children today have unique academic curiosities and talents that reach beyond the confines of traditional school walls. It’s this innovative learner who I desire to motivate, equip and encourage. My great-grandparents, grandparents and parents were teachers and principals and it is an honor to continue their legacies. From an Outstanding Teacher award in full-time teaching to substitute teaching, private tutoring, facilitating library reading programs and staying home to raise my own children I want to be a learning influencer who promotes lifelong, vibrant learning. I count it a privilege – and great fun – to be a part of Donald’s masterful third grade team. Go Dolphins!
