Mrs. Aubrey Herrin

HI! My name is Aubrey Herrin. I am so excited to begin my 11th year at Donald. I have enjoyed teaching a variety of subjects throughout my 10 years of experience. I have taught ELAR, departmentalized reading, and was self contained for one year….even did the virtual gig for one 9 weeks.

Reading is my passion and I am thankful I get to learn more about my content area each year and become more of an expert in that particular curriculum area. It’s a pleasure to be able to be a part of your child's learning and growing experiences. Third grade is all about becoming a more independent learner, taking on more responsibilities as a student, and building positive relationships. It’s definitely my favorite grade! I can’t wait to make new memories this year!

All About Me

I grew up in LISD and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in the spring of 2012. I have two girls who attend(ed) LISD schools and a 5 year old son that will be at Donald this upcoming school year! Kenzie is 19 and is currently living in Lubbock finding her way in life. She attends South Plains and is currently majoring in education. Baileigh is 15 years old and is going into the 10th grade at FMHS. I had the pleasure of teaching her in 3rd grade! She enjoys spending her time working at Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke and wants to be a pediatric surgeon one day. My sweet boy, Hayes, keeps me active! He loves being outdoors, attending KidStrong, and playing sports. He just finished his first season of soccer. And let’s not forget my wonderful husband, Gil!

Not only do I have 3 children, but I have some fur babies, as well. I have 2 cats, Luna and Bentley. We also have a 6 year old Australian Shepard mix, Roxie. In my free time, when we aren’t running the kids to all the things, I love to read, travel, workout (love to run), and work on DIY projects. I love to decorate my house in a modern farmhouse décor. We love to go to sporting events, listen to music, try new places around town, and hang out with friends for a game night.
