Welcome to third grade! I am so excited to be a part of the Donald Elementary family. Third grade is all about becoming a more independent learner, taking on more responsibilities as a student, and building friendships.

This is my 7th year at Donald, as well as my 7th year of teaching. In 2012, I had the pleasure of student teaching under Mrs. Emmett in third grade and Mrs. Kerl in kindergarten. It was a blessing to get hired on following graduation. I have enjoyed teaching a variety of subjects throughout my 6 years of experience. I have taught LA/SS, departmentalized reading, and was self contained for one year.

Reading is my passion and I am thankful I get to learn more about my content area each year and become more of an expert in one particular curriculum area. I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful conference this summer- Get Your Teach On. I look forward to bring what I learned to the classroom and engaging students on a new level. It’s a pleasure to be able to be a part of your child's learning and growing experiences.

All About Me

Hello! My name is Aubrey Herrin. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in the spring of 2012 and began teaching at Donald in fall of 2012.

I have two girls who attend LISD schools and a 20 month old son. Kenzie is 16 and is a Junior at FMHS this school year. She is on the Varsity cheer squad, so you might be seeing us at football, basketball, and volleyball games. Baileigh is11 years old and is in 6th grade at Forestwood. I had the pleasure of teaching her in 3rd grade! It was a priceless experience. She enjoys spending her free time dancing her nights away at Footlights-jazz and hip hop. You can often find her dancing around! My sweet boy keeps me active! He loves dirt, trains, cars, and all things "boy".

Not only do I have 3 children, but I have some fur babies, as well. I have 2 cats, Luna and Willow. We rescued the sisters from a shelter mid summer only to find out later that Willow was really a Will. So, we now have brother and sister kittens. We also have an almost year old Australian Shepard mix, Roxie. Boy does she keep us busy! We go on walks, runs, or bike rides every night.

In my free time, when we aren’t at dance or cheer, I love to read, travel, workout, and do DIY projects. I love to decorate my house in farmhouse décor. We love to go to sporting events, listen to music, and hang out with friends for a game night.
