Welcome to Mrs. Sammon’s First Grade Class!  I am excited to start my 16th year teaching and my 6th year as part of the Donald Family! I am a homegrown LISD girl having been in the district as a student in K-12, and as a teacher having taught life skills, dual language, and STEM.  I earned my bachelors and masters degrees both from from UNT, and spent a semester teaching English in a small village in Mexico. That incredible experience confirmed my love of teaching.  I serve as a district curriculum writer for language arts/social studies and each year, I love creating a classroom family and being part of all of the wonderful memories and moments in each child’s life.  

I have been married to my husband Bryan for 11 years and we have a gorgeous but fiesty 3 year old, Nora.  My newest hobby is finding matching mommy and me clothes, but I also enjoy scrapbooking, gymnastics, musicals, reading, and traveling.  NYC, California, and Disney World top our travel list, but we'd love to explore Europe one day.   Our family also has a fat cat named Chapman.  I have been known to break into song, and the way into my heart is with a hot cup of queso, an iced coffee (the sweeter, the better!), and chocolate.
