Hi Dolphins! I am Monica Blaylock. I was born in Oklahoma, and yes I am an OU fan. BOOMER SOONER! I moved to The Colony in 2nd grade and grew up going to LISD schools. I went to UNT and got my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies EC-6th grade. After a few years of teaching, I decided to go back to UNT for my master’s in special education Autism Intervention. This will be my 13th year teaching, 10th year in LISD and 1st year in COMM! Before COMM I spent 7 years in GenEd teaching Kinder and 1st grade, then 5 years in Special Education SDI with 3rd-5th. 

My husband Aaron and I have been together for 11 years and married for 5 this October. We have a 2-year-old little boy named Asher, and an 8-year-old Australian Shepherd named Sophie. When I am not at school you can find me literally chasing Asher around because he is a ball of energy!
