Hello Donald family! My name is Barbara Kitchen. I am excited to teach Computer Science this year.  I graduated from University of North Texas many years ago and am beginning my 22nd year teaching in LISD. I have taught 5th grade Science, K-5 Science Discovery, and 2nd grade STEM. 2nd graders are my absolute favorite! 

My whole family graduated from Macus H.S. and my husband and I have stayed in the community to educate its youth for many years. He is an outdoor educator at a private school in Argyle, TX.  We have two wonderful adult boys and 5 cuddly cats. Brandon is pursuing his career in the automotive industry in Johnston, Iowa and Cody is pursuing his career locally for Best Buy’s Geek Squad. We are recent empty-nesters exploring life without children at home! 

I am a fun and passionate teacher that fully believes in instilling the love of learning through exploration and discovery. I love designing learning experiences for my students that challenge & excite them. My hobbies include learning about new teaching techniques, Cricut crafts, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I am a sucker for LEGOs, Coca-cola, furry animals, and Reese’s PB Cups!
