Joseph Baker graduated from UT Tyler with his education certification after leaving the Army.  He began teaching in Gladewater, TX, and his career has taken him through a wide range of schools from a Department of Juvenile Justice school to a bustling high school and everything in between. 

Joseph’s background is largely in technology, but he fell in love with teaching when he took his first education class in college.  He loves finding new ways to incorporate new forms of technology, brain stretching activities, puzzles, and anything else that he can to make the subject relevant and fun.  He strongly believes that anyone can find success in school if they are in an environment where they feel that they can belong, ask questions, experiment, make mistakes, and receive help. 

Joseph is a self-proclaimed “Dis-nerd”, and can be found surrounded is Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel memorabilia.  In his spare time, he reads, spends time with his family, plays video games, and watches movies.  He’s also a minister and a certified travel agent.  He lives just north of Lewisville with his wife, two daughters, two dogs, and a cat.
