I am a Texan through and through. I grew up in Aledo, a small town west of Fort Worth. After graduating high school, I attended Texas Tech University from 1996-2002 where I earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in English and History and a Master’s of Arts in English. After graduation, I got married and headed back to the Metroplex where I started my teaching career as well as earned a Master's in Educational Administration from TCU. I taught at a small private Christian school in Oak Cliff, then Sanger High School, and most recently, at Marcus High School. I have taught on-level English IV and blended English III, IV at Marcus High School and have served as a Virtual Learning Academy English IV adjunct teacher. I have also taught at Weatherford College and North Central Texas College. In the Fall of 2021, I joined the VLA full time as a Learning Specialist, assisting in course design, professional development, and student experience. Somehow along the way, I have been raising two boys in Flower Mound, hosting exchange students from Spain and Sweden and enjoying life with my wife.
Here is a video on why I became an educator.
