Thank you for choosing Parkway Elementary for your child's education. I am committed to fostering academic excellence for all students through a Multi-Tiered System of Support. For each student, we offer support using research-based intervention and opportunities for student enrichment. At Parkway, we utilize a systematic approach with a focus on data-driven decision making to ensure all students meet and exceed the expectations of a 21st Century learner. Through our Dual Language Program, both English Learners and Spanish Learners develop academic vocabulary in a Second Language that creates a pathway to College and Career Readiness. Thank you for being a part of our community and partnering with us to ensure the success of all our students.
I have been in Educational Administration for the past ten years. Before coming to Parkway, I was an Assistant Principal at Independence Elementary for three years. In Southern California, I served for seven years as a District Administrator in various capacities including Coordinator for K-5 Instruction, Coordinator for Health Education Programs, and Coordinator for New Teacher Programs. In addition to my administrative experience, I have ten years teaching experience, which includes Response to Intervention (RTI) Facilitator, Student Support Specialist, Guided Reading Specialist, ESL Teacher, K-3 Reading Teacher, and First Grade Teacher.
I have earned two Master's Degrees, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a M.A. in Educational Leadership. I am currently working on my doctorate in Education Leadership and Administration at the University of North Texas.
My husband is a Professor and Clinical Neuropsychologist at University of North Texas. We have two children in LISD schools. My son, Tommy, is in middle school and my daughter, Sophie, will be attending school with me at Parkway in the Dual Language Program.
My door is always open. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns. I look forward to a great school year!
