Mrs. Piya Guthrie
Hi! My name is Piya (pronounced Pia) Guthrie and I will be teaching 8th grade ELA and Honors this year. I joined the Arbor Creek Eagles family last year.
My husband and I moved to Dallas 4 years ago from Houston, where I had lived for the past 43 years. I am a “boy mom” and have 2 sons, ages 28 and 25. My oldest lives in Houston and runs a branch of United Rentals and my youngest recently finished his masters at Ole Miss (Hotty Toddy!!) and is living in New York working for Nueberger Berman.
Fun Facts about Me
I have 2 rescue dogs, Tucker (11 yrs.) and Lillie (2 years). I love to travel, entertain friends, shop, and explore new restaurants. Mexican food (Pappasitos) is my favorite! I could eat it 5 days a week! I also have a huge sweet tooth-sour gummy candy is my favorite!
One of my hobbies is reading and my two favorite authors are Kristin Hannah and Elin Hildebrandt. My other hobbies include decorating and cooking. I love to find things in thrift stores and re-paint them or re-create other decorations with them. I also love to try new recipes and share them with friends and family.
I was adopted from Thailand and have lived in Denmark (I speak Danish fluently), Puerto Rico, Kentucky, and California.
