• MHS hosted a College & Career Readiness Workshop on Nov 13, 2024. Here are some of the resources presented during the workshop.

  • College & Career Readiness Presentation: This is the presentation that was delivered to all parents and students. It lays out steps that each student and family can take for each year of high school to be prepared for college and career options after graduation.

    Resources to highlight from presentation:

MHS Testing Website: This resource will provide information about details related to STAAR, AP, PSAT, ACT, SAT, and TSI testing at MHS in addition to information about testing accommodations.

Lewisville ISD CTE Website: This resource can link you to information about the TECC Center course options available to students in LISD.

    TECC - West website

    TECC - East website

Texas OnCourse: This resource can help students and parents prepare for colleges and careers through its educational content related to searching for colleges, careers, financial aid, and much more.

My Texas Future: This new resource is designed to help students learn about college options in the State of Texas, including a way for students to share their information with colleges to determine to which schools they qualify for admissions.

College Board: The College Board is the organization that runs PSAT, SAT, and AP testing. Learn more about these test options as well as free practice materials here.

ACT: The ACT is another college entrance exam option that students can consider during their junior and senior year of high school. Learn about the test and register for it through this site.

SAT and ACT Test Dates for 2024-2025: This document lists the SAT and ACT test dates for the 2024-2025 school year. For junior and senior students, it is wise to review the dates to determine which test dates are the best options for them according to their college goals and deadlines.

FAFSA.gov: This website is the home of the Free Application for Federal Student Aide (FAFSA). This form is how students share their family’s financial information with colleges to determine their financial needs for the purposes of receiving need-based financial aide.

Lewisville Education Foundation (LEF): The LEF provides scholarships to LISD students. Senior students can complete this application as a part of their search for financial aid to pay for college.

Fastweb: Fastweb is a website where students can create a free account that will identify potential scholarships to which they can apply. Students can open an account anytime during high school, but this is an ideal tool for senior students.
