Hello, Huskies!!

My name is Jessica Jun, and I am the 7th grade Math Teacher and 6th/7th grade Math Lab Teacher at Huffines Middle School. I am so excited and honored to be here!

I was born and raised in Texas, just down the road from Lewisville in Coppell, Texas. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Journalism and minor in Educational Psychology in 2021, and I moved to Houston, Texas where I taught 7th grade English Language Arts for 3 years. During my time in Houston, I also graduated with my Masters in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University! I got married to my husband Paul in August 2024 and we moved to Dallas, and now I will be teaching math here at Huffines! I am so excited to be back in this city and to continue pursuing my passion of connecting/serving through teaching. One of my favorite parts of being a teacher is connecting with students and getting to know their stories -- who they are, and what makes them them. I can't wait to meet and grow alongside all of my wonderful students this year!

Outside of teaching, I love to watch basketball and am a HUGE Dallas Mavericks fan. I also enjoy watching TV (favorite shows: The Office, Gilmore Girls, This Is Us, and Mad Men), going for walks, journaling, playing pickleball, reading, and spending time with family and friends. On a weekly basis, you can probably catch my husband and me eating Chipotle, grabbing coffee from Starbucks or Dutch Bros, and enjoying a new movie together.
