A Message from Dr. Baxter

  • Hello, TCHS Students and Parents,

I would like to welcome you back to the 2019-20 school year, another school year of unlimited opportunity, success, and life moments for our students, staff, and community.

This year, our theme at TCHS is, “The Best….Nothing Less”!  This plan fits our journey perfectly as we enter the second year of a comprehensive five-year plan, TC ’23, and as we continue to push ourselves daily to be the very best in all we do.   At TCHS, we want to focus our attention daily on making sure each and every student is prepared for a competitive future in an increasingly global economy, and we do this by building great relationships, providing new opportunities, and offering our students the feedback and support they need.

As we begin the year, I wanted to provide our students and community some reminders on important dates so you can make plans for these great events at TCHS.  These dates are:

    • Fall Open House: Thursday, August 29 - 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
    • Homecoming Week: Our Homecoming week this year is Monday, September 30-Satruday, October 5.  Our Parade will be Wednesday, October 2, the Game will be Friday, October 4, and our Dance for all TCHS students is Saturday, October 5.
    • Graduation for The Class of 2020; The 33rd Commencement of TCHS: Sunday, May 24, 4 p.m., UNT Coliseum, Denton.

Additionally, I did want to provide a reminder related to our summer construction that was sent out in the back to school letter sent to parents and students in July.  Please note the following related to our TCHS Front Renovation:

TCHS is under construction throughout the 2019-20 school year with fantastic work from the LISD Bond Program to our front entrance.  The main parent drop-off and access to the front of the building this year will be Entrance 35, which is the Northeast front door off the main circular drive.  This will be the first front entry to the right of the construction fencing in the front of the building, and will have signage posted once the summer work is complete.

Students, we can’t wait to see you on Tuesday, August 13, as we being our great year!  Remember at TCHS, you can do anything you set your mind to, and in 2019-29 we will be, “The Best….Nothing Less”!
