Dr. Lynne Cox
Dr. Cox is a degreed architect who has been working in the field since 1992. She has an active consulting/design business and has worked on multiple projects in Texas and Oklahoma with a focus on residential and not-for-profit endeavors.
Dr. Cox holds a bachelors of Environmental Design from the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University ('92), a Masters of Education from the College of Education at the University of North Texas (UNT), and a PhD in Career and Technical Education with a minor in Organizational Behavior from the College of Information at UNT. In addition to experience in architecture and design, Dr. Cox also explores moments in time through the lens of her DSLR camera as a fine art photographer. Her work has won multiple awards in juried local, regional, and national fine art exhibitions. In 2011, two photographs were commissioned by the City of Denton Public Art Committee and published alongside the poetry of Karla Morton, 2010 Texas Poet Laureate.
Dr. Cox began teaching Architecture in 1994 at Skyline High School and Career Development Center in the Dallas ISD. Her primary objective is to instill a love of architecture and the allied arts with a focus on encouraging personal investigation, creative problem solving, and critical thinking as well as respect for the natural environment. Her daughter is a 2016 graduate of Marcus HS and a 2020 graduate of UNT. She is beginning graduate studies at SMU this fall. Her son attends Briarhill MS and will graduate from Marcus HS in 2026.
