Technology, Exploration & Career Center EAST

In the Architecture program at Career Center East, emphasis is placed on public presentation of student projects and ideas.  In order to accomplish this, we have developed partnerships with many architecture and design professionals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. One of the long-time partners in our program is OWT Architects in Fort Worth. Architects from OWT frequently visit Career Center East to review student presentations and provide critical feedback. This process of presentation and review gives students new and different perspectives to reflect on their own work, enhancing their learning and knowledge for projects in the future.

 In addition to our professional review structure, Career Center East Architecture students also have the opportunity to participate in a career prep program that provides senior-level student internships in local architecture, design, or construction companies. The Dallas office of PBK Architects has hosted many Career Center East architecture students for these semester-long internships. Since PBK also serves as Lewisville ISD’s architect, students have the opportunity to contribute to the design and construction efforts going on within their own school district and community.
