Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Kimberly Broomhall

I grew up in west Michigan, graduating from Western Michigan University with my Bachelor of Arts in secondary education, majoring in history, minoring in English. After I graduated in 2012, I moved to a little town in eastern North Carolina where I got my first teaching job as an 8th grade English Language Arts and history teacher. I spent three years in NC, where I had a blast enjoying the beautiful beaches, seafood, and lack of snow! I also met my husband, Anthony, there, who was enlisted in the Marines at a base near where I lived. When his contract in the Marines was up, he asked me to move back to his homestate of Texas with him, and that's what brought me here!

From 2015-2019, I taught 8th grade English Language Arts in Dallas. During this time, I also earned my Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Texas Woman's University. My first job as a librarian was at a high school in Dallas, but with my commute being over two hours, round trip, I knew I needed to find a position closer to where my husband and I lived. The opportunity to apply in Lewisville ISD presented itself, and I was able get a job as the librarian here at The Colony High School. I am SO thankful to be a Cougar and to work with all the students and staff here.

My husband and I have a dog and two cats, and hope to have kids of our own some day, too! In my free time, you can find me spending time in the sun- fishing, hiking, gardening, growing vegetables, reading, and boating. I also love spending time cooking and baking, my go-to dessert being homemade chocolate chip cookies. One thing I want to do before I kick the bucket is to visit all seven continents. So far, I've got North America down 😂.
