Ms. Shelby Shimanek, referred to as Ms. Shelby by her students, is the Speech Language Pathologist for Timber Creek Elementary School.

Ms. Shelby’s purpose within the Timber Creek community is based on the following principles:

•  Everyone deserves a voice 

• Making effective communication, a human right, accessible and achievable for all. 

Prior to joining the Timber Creek Family, Shelby has worked within the LISD district at Flower Mound High School. Shelby completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology at Central Michigan University. Her previous experience consists of an outpatient clinic as part of the university, an early childhood special education program within an elementary school, part of an Autism Diagnosis team, and an elementary school in Sterling Height MI serving ages 3 years to 5th grade.  She moved to Texas in the Summer of 2018 and has been a part of the LISD community since the move. 

When Shelby is not practicing speech therapy, she enjoys crafting with her Cricut, training her dog Rory, and cooking delicious food.
