Personal: I was born and raised in Brazil, and my family still lives there where they own a cattle ranch and a cocoa plantation. I moved to Texas 25 years ago with my husband who is from Iowa. Since then, I have lived in many different countries, but Texas has always been home base. About 14 years ago, we decided to settle down and have been living in Carrollton ever since. I have two children.  Lucas is a freshman at UT Austin and Mariana is a junior at Hebron High School.

Education: I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration Degree from TWU in 1997 and I received my master’s degree from TWU in 2006 with a GPA of 4.0. I plan to go back to school for a doctorate after my children graduate from high school and are settled in college. I hold several Texas teaching certificates including Mathematics 4-12, English as a Second Language Supplemental, Special Education Supplemental and Gifted and Talented Supplemental and School Counselor.

Teaching Background: 2019-2020 will be my 13th year teaching Algebra 1 and 8th Grade Math here at Creek Valley Middle School. For a few years, I also have taught 7th PreAP Math here at CVMS and I briefly taught Algebra 1 at Creekview High School in the Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD. This is my fourth year as part of the Avid team and I am very excited!

Interests and Hobbies: My husband and I love to travel! We have spent a significant amount of time in Asia. For 2.5 years, we lived in Japan, where my son was born. Our family also loves to cruise and we try to go on a cruise at least once a year. I am also an avid reader. I love reading and carry my Kindle everywhere I go ☺
