    Greetings Liberty Eagle Families:

I am excited to be at Liberty Elementary School where we invite you to enjoy a “Rainbow of Possibilities”.

I pledge to support and continue the strong level of family involvement here at Liberty. We are fortunate to have a strong, active, and nationally recognized PTA which offers both leadership and volunteer opportunities for adults through program planning, activities for students, collaborative curriculum support, charitable drives, family engagement events, special projects, room representatives, and advocacy for all kids.

I pledge to support and continue all of the additional school-based involvement opportunities, including classroom mystery readers, small group facilitators, library assistants, field trip chaperones, eating lunch in the cafeteria, assisting with workroom projects, and attending events.  We also have a diversified representation of our community as members of our Building Leadership Team.

I pledge to support and continue our partnerships with district and community groups and activities to further strengthen our ties external to our campus.  These partnerships will take on various forms and will welcome student, staff, and family participation.

The calendar of activities will remain busy throughout the spring semester, offering interaction with students, time on campus for families, and plenty of volunteer experiences.  Our academic and extracurricular offerings are first rate and offer a variety of opportunities for all students.

I pledge to support and continue providing opportunities for you to stay informed via our continually updated school website, the weekly Eagle Folder each Tuesday, the weekly Eagle Info email each Thursday, grade level and team newsletters, teacher websites, emails, phone calls, and social media.

I know that Liberty is a valued and safe learning environment for each and every student!  We are a school that provides opportunities to students, staff, families, and our community through learning initiatives, special activities, and a continuing commitment to research-based teaching practices and strategies.

We appreciate your efforts and dedication in having Liberty be THE place for engaging and meaningful lifelong learning opportunities and experiences.

Best wishes for a successful school year!

    Peter J. Taggart

    Dear Liberty Elementary School Families,

I am excited to be part of the Liberty Elementary School leadership team as the assistant principal and appreciate this opportunity to share your child’s early educational experiences.

This year marks my 19th year of being employed by LISD. During this time, I have taught Kindergarten, first & third grade at Parkway Elementary, and as the Dyslexia Interventionist at Hebron Valley Elementary. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (specializing in Early Childhood thru Sixth grade) from the University of North Texas and a Masters in Administration with a Principal Certification from Concordia University.

My husband Sam and I are products of the LISD educational program, graduating from Marcus High School. This summer, we celebrated our 17th anniversary. We have beautiful 13-year-old twins, Peyton and Rylie, who also attend school in LISD. Our family enjoys doing things together, such as supporting the girls in their sports and community activities. We also enjoy going to the beach, swimming, playing outside, snow skiing, and hanging out with our family and friends. My interest includes crafting, cooking and making royal icing cookies for special occasions.

It is truly a privilege to be part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. I am honored to serve Liberty Elementary School and look forward to supporting your children to become “Future Ready.” Please feel free to contact me at 972-350-5905 or coxk@lisd.net

    Sincerely,

    Kimberly Cox
