Congratulations to Liberty on once again being named a National Common Sense Media Recognized School! Thank you to Library Media Specialist Melanie Sibley and STEM Facilitator Mandi Tompkins for their work on helping us achieve this recognition!
Congratulations to newly selected Life Members of the PTA, selected by a committee of peers and based on longtime service to our school: Linda Echols, Steve Glaser, Sarah Meche, and Marisa Nightengale! They will be awarded their recognition at the annual LISD PTA Founders Day Dinner on Thursday, February 20, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville!
Congratulations to the following staff members for being nominated by their peers for LISD awards this school year: School Resource Officer Jason Hawley, Bus Driver John Cronin, Food Service Manager Keisha Brewer, Diagnostician Christin Casebolt, Receptionist Kara Hamlin, Nurse Regina Miller, and Counselor Elizabeth Banda!
Congratulations to fifth grade students Govind Othayoth and Olivia Yost on their participation in the Flower Mound Feeder Spelling Bee and for representing Liberty so well!

A reminder, per the agreement established at the beginning of the program on our campus 2.5 years ago, all WATCH D.O.G. volunteers are to be members of the Liberty PTA.
*Attention* We are moving the lunch coverage in January from Thursday, January 16 to Friday, January 31 so the teachers can enjoy a special "Souper Bowl" lunch together. We need volunteers to help make this fun event happen! There are 30-minute time slots are available for all grade levels including Discovery Academy. Please help and signup today! We have a limited number of formal group pictures available in the main office for $13.00 cash or check made out to Liberty. Pictures available include Choir, Garden Club, Green Squad, Student Council, Volleyball Club, and the Staff
School Nurse Regina Miller has organized a community blood drive with Carter Blood Center on Saturday, February 1, from 9:000am to 1:00pm to offer us an opportunity to help alleviate a shortage in the blood supply. Be sure to purchase your Taco Dinner tickets in advance by the Thursday, January 30 deadline and join us Thursday, February 6, for a family night of food, fun, and fellowship at the dinner, games, cake walk, silent auction, and vendor fair at the Eagle Festival from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
If you have a middle school or high school student who is a former Liberty Eagle and they plan on attending our Eagle Festival on February 6, we could use their help. If they come that night we could use them as volunteers to help the teachers throughout the night. Please email Kimberly Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know that they can help that evening.

Liberty will recognize the Great Kindness Challenge Week during the week of Monday through Friday, January 27 through 31.
The Building Leadership Team will meet Tuesday, January 28, at 3:15pm in room 502.
Volleyball Club begins its weekly gatherings on Thursday, January 30, from 3:00pm to 3:45pm in the gym.
It will be Go Red and Super Bowl spirit day Friday, January 31, with everyone encouraged to wear red.
We will commemorate National School Counseling Week from Monday, February 3 through Friday, February 7.
Please help us recognize the work of our school counselor Elizabeth Banda in a recognition ceremony at 3:15pm Tuesday, February 4, at the apex of the library.
An evacuation drill will be conducted during the school day Wednesday, February 5.
The next PTA Executive Board meeting will be Thursday, February 6, at 9:00am in the PTA workroom.
Everyone be sure to join us for the annual Eagle Festival on Thursday, February 6, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm featuring a taco dinner, games, cake walk, auction, and vendor fair. Deadline to register is Friday, January 31.
Friday, February 7, will be college spirit day with everyone encouraged to wear clothing items of their favorite colleges.
Please help us recognize the work of our crosswalk guards Sherrie Hawk and Carol Crabtree in a recognition ceremony at 3:15pm Tuesday, February 11, at the apex of the library.
Liberty PTA will host a Reflections Reception for all students and their families who submitted entries into the contest this school year on Tuesday, February 11, in the library at 6:00pm.
Valentine/Heart Parties will be held Friday, February 14, according to the following schedule: Discovery Academy – 9:30am-10:30am, Kindergarten – 12:00pm to 1:00pm, First Grade – 12:00pm to 1:00pm, Second Grade – 1:45pm to 2:45pm, Third Grade – 1:45pm to 2:45pm, Fourth Grade – 1:30pm to 2:30pm, and Fifth Grade – 1:30pm to 2:30pm.
The Friday, February 14 spirit day is Heart Day with everyone encouraged to wear red or pink clothing.
There will be no school Monday, February 17, in recognition of Presidents Day.
The February Student Council meeting will be Tuesday, February 18, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.
February student birthday celebrations from PTA will be held during the lunches Wednesday, February 20, in the cafeteria.
The annual LISD PTA Founders Day Dinner will be Thursday, February 20, at 6:30pm at the Lewisville Hilton Garden Inn.
The Friday, February 21 spirit day is Jaguar spirit day with everyone wearing their FMHS spirit gear.
PTA will provide Shakespeare on the Go to third through fifth grade students on Friday, February 21, at 2:00pm in the cafeteria.
Spring picture day will be Tuesday, February 25, for any student who either has not yet had their official school picture taken yet this school year or is needing a replacement picture taken.
The LISD Fifth Grade Honor Choir Concert will be Tuesday, February 25, at 7:30pm in Stuver Auditorium at Lewisville High School. It is free and open to the public.
