Spanish Honor Society
I. Every year current and new members will have to register to assure they are actively participating in the SHH chapter.
II. There will be a required non-refundable $10 fee due for new members right after you receive the email of acceptance. This will cover your chapter membership fee, refreshments, snacks, and supplies for activities . Payment is done by Revtrack.
*Seniors won't have to pay for cords. This is included in the fee.
III. Qualifications for Membership
To be eligible for membership in the SHH, students must meet the following criteria:
a) Student must be actively enrolled in a upper level Spanish class.
b) Student must have completed at least three 9wks semesters of Spanish.
c) Transfer students must have spent one full semester in the program at Marcus High School before eligibility.
d) Student must have an overall GPA of 90% or higher on current semester.
e) Student must have a cumulative Spanish average of 3.5 or higher from all previous courses.
f) Student must never have failed a class due to attendance.
g) Student must have a good behavior record and no discipline issues on record.
IV. All members must have completed a Membership Agreement upon acceptance to SHH.
V. All member my abide by the Bylaws and Constitution of SHH
The name of this organization is the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, also known as “SHH.” The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is a national organization affiliated with AATSP.
The chapter of SHH at Marcus High School is named “Marcus Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica”. This chapter recognizes all bylaws of the SHH national society.
The purpose of the SHH is to recognize high achievement in Spanish by students of secondary schools and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic studies.Meetings are in W228 on the first Monday of the month before and after school.
