- NNAT-2 Kindergarten screening (Spring semester, nonverbal assessment tool)
- Data Collection for ‘Watch List” to continue through 2nd grade
- Intentional homeroom “clustering” of identified watch list students with GT trained teachers
- Spring testing in 2nd grade for identified students (those showing readiness for process)
Curriculum: Bringing out the Potential
- District designed Planned Learning Experiences – provided by GT Department
- Enrichment lessons (Critical, Creative and Logical Thinking Skills)
- Collaboration between GT facilitator and classroom teacher
Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades (Formally Identified Students)
Services: Intentional weekly services for identified GT students – GT classrooms
- GT students clustered with trained teachers and other GT students in classrooms
- Collaboration with teachers to provide classroom extensions/ differentiation
- Independent study/enrichment opportunities
- NNAT2 Screening for all 3rd graders to help further identify potential GT students
Curriculum: Developing the Gifted
- GT Facilitator plans and delivers LISD GT curriculum
- Collaboration with cluster classroom teachers
