    • Year-long observations

    • NNAT-2 Kindergarten screening (Spring semester, nonverbal assessment tool)
    • Data Collection for ‘Watch List” to continue through 2nd grade
    • Intentional homeroom “clustering” of identified watch list students with GT trained teachers
    • Spring testing in 2nd grade for identified students (those showing readiness for process)

    Curriculum: Bringing out the Potential

    • District designed Planned Learning Experiences – provided by GT Department
    • Enrichment lessons (Critical, Creative and Logical Thinking Skills)
    • Collaboration between GT facilitator and classroom teacher

     

    Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades (Formally Identified Students)

    Services: Intentional weekly services for identified GT students – GT classrooms

    • GT students clustered with trained teachers and other GT students in classrooms
    • Collaboration with teachers to provide classroom extensions/ differentiation
    • Independent study/enrichment opportunities
    • NNAT2 Screening for all 3rd graders to help further identify potential GT students 

    Curriculum: Developing the Gifted

    • GT Facilitator plans and delivers LISD GT curriculum
    • Collaboration with cluster classroom teachers
