• Parents who intend to move over the summer, please fill out the Intent to Withdraw Over Summer form and return it to the attendance office.  For ALL End of Year Withdrawal Tasks, when your student will not be staying at Killian, nor will they go on to their feeder high school, please read this document.  If you did not return the LISD Ipad, keyboard, cord and charger to KMS prior to the end of school, you will need to follow the instructions found here on the LISD Technology Webpage.

Withdrawing a Student during the School Year?

When withdrawing a student, the entire process takes time to complete from start to finish.  Just like when your student was first enrolled in an LISD school, certain steps must be followed.  The more prepared you are, the faster the process will go!

Parent/Guardian completes a “Letter of Intent to Withdraw” and turns it into the office, or has the student turn it into the office. The form can be located on KMS’ website or in the office.

Parent and Student find all school materials (textbooks, library books, IPAD etc.) that belong to KMS.

    • Library materials go to the library for check-in.
    • IPAD (with cord, charger and keyboard) go to the library to have information deleted and check-in.

Lost cord? Broken charger? Each costs $17.50 to replace.  Broken keyboard? It costs $40 to fix for the next student.

Remember how excited you were when you received your Ipad and power cord and charger?   The next student deserves the same experience, so replacing the items you lost or broke is expected.  Every student is given a cord and charger when they receive their Ipad.

    • Textbooks go to the Attendance Office.
    • Killian-owned band or orchestra instruments need to be returned to the teacher to confirm the state of the instrument.
    • Choir uniforms need to be returned to the Choir director.
    • Sports uniforms need to be returned to your coach.
    • Lunch Balance needs to be checked.  Pay $ if you owe $.  Cash can be turned in to the cafeteria or you can pay online.

    Student’s last day of school:

If the student or parent has communicated the withdrawal to the registrar and has made sure all KMS items have been returned, then the student can stop by the attendance office before 8th period to confirm that no lunch balance remains and any medication stored by the nurse has been picked up.

During the last day, the student should speak to each person to confirm they do not owe anything:

    • Librarian, verifying that all library resources have been returned.  Any item not returned/found can be paid for by check or cash at time of withdrawal.
    • Nurse, verifying that there are no medications that need to be taken home.
    • Cafeteria Manager, verifying that they do not owe money on their lunch account. This should be on the last day.  Cash can be turned in to the cafeteria or you can pay online.

The gym locker should be emptied of everything - including trash.

The parent will need to pay for any balances owed to KMS at the end of the day when coming to pick up the withdrawal form.  We can accept cash or checks.  The Assistant Principal will complete the Withdrawal Form once all balances are paid in full.

Copies will be made of the withdrawal form for you to use to enroll your student in their new school. The withdrawal form includes: Student Name, Grade, Classes taken, Grades up to that point, KMS address and contact information, immunizations, attendance record, and any special program information.
