Principal's Message
-
Dear Parents,
Thank you for choosing Camey Elementary for your child's education. I am committed to providing a learning environment where all students attain academic achievement, display strength of character, and thrive in their experiences. With your partnership, we will continue to build a legacy of pride, tradition, and excellence.
I am honored to begin serving as the principal of Camey this year. It is even more exciting because this year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of Camey Elementary. When we first opened our doors in 1977, we were the very first public school to be built in The Colony. The Cobras spent 38 years in that original building. In January 2015, the students of Camey were able to walk into a brand new, state of the art building. The forward thinking design of the building helps to foster 21st century skills such as collaboration and technological literacy. We are looking forward to celebrating our proud history of this great school!
This year, I begin my 23rd year in public education. In addition to being an assistant principal here in Lewisville ISD, I have also been an instructional facilitator, classroom teacher, special education teacher, and speech therapist in both Texas and Louisiana.
I am here to partner with you and our community. My door is always open. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Angela Cortez, Principal
