Hello!   My name is Heather Lewis.  I am the GT Facilitator at Ethridge Elementary.  I have been teaching at Ethridge since 2006.  I feel so fortunate to be able to teach our amazing students.  My first year of teaching school was in 1993.  I have also taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 6th grade and also coached middle school athletics.  Volleyball was my favorite sport to coach!  But, my favorite sport to play has always been soccer. 

I was born in San Diego, California, but have lived most of my life in Texas.  I grew up in Beaumont, Texas. I graduate from Texas Tech University with a BS in Child Development and a minor in Education and Science.  I am certified to teach PreKindergarten through 6th grade.  I also have my ESL and GT certification.  

I have 4 amazing kids that range in age from 20-34.  We enjoy hanging out, going on the lake, sporting events, and playing games together.  My husband and I love to cycle long distance on the road and also mountain bike off road. My knees are often skinned up from my bicycling adventures!  I love to cook, run, paddle board, take photos, and can be quite crafty!  

My goal is to help my students realize their potential and to help them understand that learning is a fun and challenging process!  We only grow when we make mistakes!  It is important for my students to know and understand that we are partners in learning.  I also love living in the same community with my students!  Watching them grow up is such an exciting opportunity.
