Welcome to Second Grade!!

2018-2019

Hi!  My name is Casey Henslee.  This will be my 12th year teaching.  I taught Kindergarten for 6 years and this will be my 6th year teaching second grade.  In my spare time, I love spending my time with my other half, Tony, and our fur babies (2 cats, Paco and Sammie, and a dog named Akira).  They keep us very entertained and busy!  I enjoy getting to spend time with my family and friends as much as possible.

I attended Lewisville I.S.D. schools for elementary, middle, and high school.  GO FARMERS! I went to Texas Woman’s University.  I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in education and early childhood development.

I am proud to work in such a great district!

I come to Southridge each day to make a difference in my students lives.  I believe that each and every child has the ability and the want to learn.  I am excited for a great year!

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns! You can e-mail me at hensleec@lisd.net. My conference time is from 9:10-10:00 a.m. I am also available after school from 3:00-3:40 p.m. Please call ahead if you would like to schedule a meeting during these times.

I am going to be posting different activities that you can do with your child at home. Some of the activites will need to be printed or made in order to do it with your child. I urge you to look at the activities periodically, as I will be adding new activites through out the year. I cannot begin to stress how important it is for each parent/guardian to be involved in each child's education.

The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live. ~Mortimer Adler
