Ms. Andrea Souders
Physical Education is an important part of your health and well-being. During Physical Education, we will be performing many different skills, activities, and challenges. Students will focus on: body management skills, developing teamwork and cooperation skills, good sportsmanship, and proper nutrition. Our goal is for Hebron Valley students to develop an appreciation for physical fitness.
Hello Huskies! My name is Andrea Souders and I am thrilled to be the PE teacher at Hebron Valley! I grew up in Flower Mound and am a Marcus High School graduate. I earned my degree in Education at Midwestern State University in 2004 and then my Physical Education degree in 2018. I love being outside and running is my jam! I have experience teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. This is my 18th year teaching with LISD and I’m excited to share my passion for fitness with the Hebron Valley community!
It’s time for the 21 Day Healthy Snack Challenge! I want to encourage ALL students to join us as Hebron Valley strives to leave no one behind in our quest for good health. The 21 Day Healthy Snack Challenge is a great opportunity for all of us to take responsibility for our own well-being in a body we fuel with our choices.
Sept. 28th-Oct. 5th — On-line sign-up at kids-teaching-kids.com Only parents can sign children up using parent email.
Oct. 5th-Oct. 23rd — 21 Day Challenge! The challenge isn’t complicated. You will receive access to cool snack recipes created by students across North Texas. The program encourages you to make healthier snack choices for the next 21 days. Every day, prepare and eat a healthy snack that contains a fruit or vegetable. The recipes in this year’s book are inspired from all over the world, plus for your participation, you will get cool rewards. Feel free to use the recipes located on the kids-teaching-kids.com website or come up with your own. The idea…A healthy snack is as simple as choosing a banana instead of a candy bar or a handful of almonds instead of a handful of M&M’s. The challenge lasts for 3 weeks in an effort to help students form a habit of eating healthy foods.
Nov. 9th-Nov. 16th — Parents please be on the lookout for an email from MCCH that links to a short survey required to complete the challenge. MCCH will provide rewards for all students who signed-up, participated in the challenge, and completed the post survey.
