Credit Options

    Flower Mound High School provides many opportunities for students to earn credits for recovery or acceleration. Read below for details, then see your counselor if you are interested in one of these options.
     

     

    Correspondence Courses: Correspondence/on-line courses offered through Texas Tech University high school classes. Students register online. Take course from home and have 6 months to complete. You will take your final exam in FMHS testing office. Cost - approx. $150 per 1/2 credit plus cost of books. https://www.depts.ttu.edu/k12/programs/high-school/

    FMHS Credit Recovery: In school program in which students work at their own pace on computer program to earn credit.

    LISD Virtual Learning Academy: The LISD Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) offers students flexible online learning opportunities within and outside the school day.  Online courses are available through VLA and the Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN).  Virtual Learning Academy courses are locally developed and meet the goals of Strategic Design and the state's high standards for teaching and learning.  Instruction and content are delivered primarily over the Internet, and students may have opportunities to meet face-to-face for collaboration, group work, and personalized instruction.  TxVSN courses are available from provider school district across Texas.  Like VLA courses, TxVSN courses meet the state's high standards for teaching and learning.  VLA and campus-based mentors are available to help all online students.     Credit for Acceleration Exams: Offered to students to earn additional credit. A student must earn a 90% or above to receive credit. See your counselor to order exam. You will take the CBE in the FMHS testing office. No cost. Read the Testing Tips for exams at the bottom of the page. Please see your counselor to schedule testing.

    Credit-by-Exam: Credit-by-exams are offered to students that need to repeat a course due to failure.Absence/fails are not eligible for CBE. See your counselor to order exam. You will take the CBE in the FMHS testing office. Prepare for exams by accessing above CBE link. Cost - $30 per exam.

    Summer School: Students can take summer school through LISD for remediation or any other school district for acceleration. Prices vary. Complete the summer school application, have counselor sign and make copies. Then, you will register on the appropriate date.
