Mill Street Elementary

Our goal is to help your child have an academically, socially, and emotionally fulfilling experience this school year. I am here to help your child function positively at school and develop skills that will last a lifetime. 

Our comprehensive guidance and counseling program follows Texas Education Agency guidelines.
Guidance topics are centered around the following topics:

• Decision-making, goal setting, problem solving
• Communication skills
• Interpersonal effectiveness
• Self-Confidence
• Cross cultural effectiveness
• Responsible behavior
• Motivation to achieve

All topics covered are part of the Texas guidance and counseling program model. The children are involved in discussions, listen to books, watch short video clips, and show their knowledge through independent in-class projects.

Your child may see the counselor individually or in a small group lunch setting by:

• Self-referral
• Teacher-referral
• Parent- referral
• Counselor- referral
• RTI team- referral

The language of the 8 Habits is infused in everything we do at Mill Street Elementary. We believe the meaning of these habits will not only lead to student success in school, these principles will led to success in life.
